Carpenter Racing Ultra Valve Springs

While our industry-leading valve springs have set the standard for nearly 3 decades, we felt that it was time to set a new standard. A valve spring well capable of 15,000 RPM. While our current valve springs have delivered proven reliability of RPMs exceeding 14,000, we felt that with newer 1000cc models now approaching 15,000 RPM rev limits, that it was time to set a new standard.

For racers pushing their engines beyond conventional limits, we have developed our Carpenter Racing Ultra Valve Springs, engineered specifically for competition engines operating well over 14,000 RPM and up to 15,000 RPM. Think of it this way: Your valves open and close 125 times per second at 15,000RPM.

These springs start with the same proven manufacturing process as our current industry-leading valve springs, but undergo several advanced finishing steps designed to dramatically improve fatigue resistance and high-RPM stability.

After initial production, each spring is precision micro-polished to remove microscopic surface imperfections that can act as stress points under extreme cyclic loading. The springs are then heat treated a second time to stabilize the steel’s microstructure and relieve internal stresses, ensuring consistent spring pressure under severe racing conditions. Finally, they are shot-peened with a finer media, creating a uniform compressive surface layer that significantly improves resistance to fatigue cracking.

The result is a valve spring built to withstand the intense loads and rapid cycling that occur in engines turning 14,000–15,000 RPM, providing greater durability, stability, and reliability in extreme racing environments.

While these springs require additional manufacturing time and precision finishing, the payoff is a stronger, longer-lasting spring designed for serious high-RPM race engines where valvetrain control is critical.
