Triumph Bonneville

With our success in turning the Triumph Rocket III into a raging beast, we decided to see what we could do with Triumph’s retro “Modern Classic”, the Bonneville.

The Bonneville was a challenge with only two cylinders to work with. We also wanted to keep the price and reliability down by keeping the same bore and stroke of the OEM 865cc parallel twin engine.

Our subject bike, a stock 2013 T100, produced a baseline of 56 horsepower at the rear wheel on our dyno. Where could we take it?

The first step, of course, was porting the cylinder head. We then added spicy cams, upgraded the valve springs, and installed a pair of high-compression pistons. We also complemented it with an aftermarket cam chain tensioner.

With an aftermarket exhaust and properly tuned Power Commander, our Bonneville tripped the dyno at just over 90 horsepower – an increase of over 50%!

We turned a pleasant ride into a bike that will raise your heart rate.

Our upgrade works on any Triumph with the 865cc parallel twin engine, including the off-road inspired Scrambler and the café racer-styled Thruxton and the semi-cruisers, the America and the Speedmaster.

Choose the “Drive-in, Drive-out” and leave Carpenter Racing with a turn-key, tuned motorcycle. For mail-order packages, send us your head and cams, and we will ship them back ready to bolt on along with the other components. This upgrade requires an aftermarket exhaust and updated ECU. We can install a Triumph-approved Arrow exhaust at additional cost. Call us for details.
